What's the per-item limit for?

The per-item limit caps how much applies to any single gift, at $500. The aggregate limit caps the total across all gifts, and scales by tier from $2,000 up to $16,000.

Where do the gifts need to be for cover to apply?

Cover applies in the seven days before the wedding, at the wedding, in transit between locations, or at your home. A theft from an unattended vehicle is only covered where the vehicle was locked and there are signs of forced entry.

Theft not reported to the police as soon as reasonably practicable, and within fourteen days of discovering the loss.
Theft from an unattended vehicle, unless it was locked and secured and there are visible signs of forced entry.
Damage from wear and tear, moth, vermin, deterioration, confiscation, or detention.
Damage from atmospheric or climatic conditions, other than during the wedding itself.
Crypto currency, which is excluded from the definition of money.
