Defined measurable thresholds are set out in the policy — not general inconvenience.

Outdoor weddings carry more weather exposure, and Wedding Insurance AU is built with that in mind. If severe weather, a natural catastrophe, or a venue becoming unsafe forces a cancellation or postponement, there's cover for the non-refundable costs. Damage to hired marquees and equipment is covered too. the policy sets out the severe-weather triggers.

Cover applies to severe weather or a natural catastrophe that makes the venue unsafe or stops at least half your guests reaching it, not to rain alone. And it has to be unforeseen, so weather already being warned about publicly when you bought isn't covered. Choosing to cancel because rain is forecast wouldn't meet the covered reasons in Section 1.

Accidental damage to a hired marquee or equipment is covered under Section 9, where you've accepted responsibility under a signed agreement, up to that tier's limit. That's separate from the cancellation cover for severe weather under Section 1.

Because cover is for unforeseen weather. Once a forecast or official warning is public, the weather is no longer unforeseen, so it falls outside the cover. Buying well ahead of the day protects the window before any warnings appear.
